National Recognition for Handloom Entrepreneurship
M/s Marvella Associates, Sualkuchi, has been honoured with the National Award for Start-up Ventures/Producer Company, recognising its contribution to innovation and entrepreneurship in India’s handloom sector.
The prestigious recognition highlights Marvella’s commitment to preserving and promoting Assam’s rich Muga and Eri silk weaving heritage, while embracing innovation and enterprise to strengthen the state’s textile ecosystem.
Marvella Associates’ innovative “Soil-to-Silk” model showcases the complete journey of Assam’s silk tradition — from cultivating host plants and rearing silkworms to producing cocoons, reeling yarn, dyeing, weaving and creating finished handloom products. The recognition celebrates this integrated approach to preserving traditional knowledge while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
